I CAME FROM SOMEWHAT OF A COMBINATION OF A SCREWED UP HOUSEHOLD AND OLDSCHOOL TO THE MAX. AT DINNER TIME THERE WERE NO DRUGS, THERE WAS NO ALCOHOL- UNLESS YOU FINISHED EVERYTHING ON YOUR PLATE.

Not sure if this is the best advice she gave me.."When thinking of marrying, remember a man that can cry is a sign of a good man." My dad is a good man, I never saw him cry but my mom must have..wonder what he cried about.

"make sure you are in a relationship where the man loves you more than you love him" I try not to take this one seriously, or maybe I should, I think my dad, they are now devorced, hurt her pretty bad. I want to be just as in love with someone as they are with me.

"Young man... (I was 13) if you use It before your married, I WILL know (long pause/Mom stare)...and I will cut it off." I believed her until I was 19 and safely at college!
